Tanzania: Cargo Handling to Speed Up The country's food quality is still unsatisfactory and needs more control on the part of consumer protection entities, Angop learned Tuesday in Luanda This was said by the head of the Water and Food Testing Laboratory of the Angola Methodist University, Fernando Dias. Fernando Dias was speaking to Angop about food quality in Angola, saying the improvement of the quality of food in the country requires a huge financial investment as the source of the foodstuffs often poses many health hazard. The official also mentioned the food manufactured and sold on streets without a minimum of hygiene. "Currently, a large part of the meals eaten by Angolans is purchased from the informal market or from streets. This food has no nutrients whatsoever with many bacteria, because the exposition to dust and sun," he stressed. Fernando Dias spoke of the importance of testing laboratories in the process of improving the diet, mentioning the inauguration soon of the Water and Food Testing Laboratory of the Angola Methodist University. The official said that once in place, the laboratory that will add to the six existing in the country, will help Angolans with a notion of food and beverage health. Recently, the ministries of Finance and Commerce approved a new table of prices for micro-biological and physical and chemical tests of all foodstuffs in the country.
